Group discounts - Posted: 09 Jul, 2008
Although chartering a flight didn't work out, it did put us in contact with a good travel agent. If there are any groups of people(even 6-10) who are interested in traveling together and would like to check out group discounts for airfare they can help. His name is Anthony Pietromonaco, and can be reached at anthony@tsctravelusa.com. Just give him our names, he should still have our info. There is definitely a $20 per person booking fee but beyond that we're not sure what if any additional charge they require.
Don't use Orbitz - Posted: 09 Jul, 2008
We strongly recommend that no one book through Orbitz or similar companies. We've had very bad experiences where something with the flight gets messed up and Orbitz won't take responsibility for it and the airline won't help because we booked through someone else, and we ended up paying for a hotel overnight for something that wasn't our fault. You can however look for flights through those companies and then book through the airline directly and they will match prices.
Dates - Posted: 09 Jul, 2008
Please try to book flights as close as possible to the 11th-19th. It would really help us out as far as getting people over to Tobago and general organization if everyone comes and goes on approximately the same dates. However, we do understand that some people are making extended vacations out of the trip, which is awesome!
Flight update - Posted: 09 Jul, 2008
Ok. So we looked into chartering a flight, however we just ran into the same problem of not being able to get straight into Tobago. Therefore we are recommending that most people fly into Miami, New York(or wherever), spend the night there, and get an early flight into Trinidad that will allow plenty of time to catch the airbus over to Tobago. That way no one will have to worry about booking a hotel in Trinidad. We're probably going to put Kevin in the airport in Trinidad to help get everyone across and Rachel will be in Tobago to get people to hotels. We suggest that everyone book flights asap, as the prices are only going to go up. We're sorry about the delay, let us know if anyone has any questions or concerns.
Welcome! - Posted: 14 Jun, 2008
Hi everyone! Welcome to our wedding website. This is going to be a work in progress, so please bear with us as there will be regular updates and travel tips. First things first. . . everyone needs a passport. Next are plane tickets. We are looking into the possibility of chartering a flight from Florida directly to Tobago. That way no one would have to stop in Trinidad. A travel agent friend of ours is checking into it for us, so we should know in about a week if it's possible, and what the cost would be per person. The dates we are trying to arrange this for are the 11th-19th. That will give everyone a full week to enjoy Tobago. While we are waiting, Kevin is checking for around for flights in case chartering a flight falls through.
